Suggested use of the Pocket Prep App: Start by doing the question of the day every day. Then as you progress through your self study journey, start doing the 10 question quizzes every day. Continue doing all of the 10 question quizzes until you have answered all questions. Then start doing missed questions quizzes which will only quiz you on questions that you have answered wrong. Continue doing missed question quizzes until you have answered every question in the question bank correctly. Then go into settings and reset progress. Then repeat this process. By the time you are ready to take the exam you should be at the point where you can easily answer every question in the Pocket Prep App.
The FlightBridgeED practice exam expires 60 days after you purchase the course. You get 4 attempts. I suggest taking all 4 attempts before your access to the exam expires. For example if the exam access expires during week 8, make an attempt on weeks 5, 6, 7 and 8.
The Impact EMS Flight Medical Provider Post-Test does not expire. I suggest taking the Post-Test at the end of the 26 week self study plan (Post-Test Link).
This book has 306 practice questions with detailed explenations of why the correct answer is correct. This can be very helpful in reinforcing your learning.
For the CCP-C exam the parts that may be most helpful include section 03.01.03 Critical Care as well as the entirety of section 07.00.00 Surface Standards (CAMTS Standards).
Depending on the type of learner you are, it may be helpful to make flash cards for each of the key terms at the end of each chapter. This can be done with hand written note cards or with something online like quizlet. It can also be done by just writing them out in a notebook, if you learn well this way. It can also be quite a daunting task so I leave it to the reader to decide if it is worthwile to yourself. The author found it very helpful to use large, half page sized note cards to write out some of the useful tables that can be found in the textbook. Wether you find this helpful may depend on wether you are the type of learner that learns by writing.
Few candidates pass the CCP-C exam on their first attempt, although some do. Many candidates require two or even three attempts to pass the exam. It can be very helpful to take a notebook and pen with you when you go to take the exam. You won't be allowed to take it into the exam room but you might want to have it handy immediately afterwards. Keep it in your car or in a purse or bag in your locker. Immediately after leaving the testing center, grab the notepad and pen. Write down everything you can remember about the exam while it is still fresh in your memory. This can be used as the basis of study for your next attempt
This site is authored and maintained by one paramedic who has self studied and passed the IBSC CCP-C exam. Each and every individual is unique with their own capabilities to learn. What works for one person may or may not work for another. There are no guarantees made whatsoever that these methods of study will work for you. It's simply presented as one possible way that a paramedic may choose to self study for the exam. It is also important to know the difference between academic knowledge, the ability to pass an exam, and practical real world experience. There's no substitute for the latter.
